Overview
Sustainable Construction Service Platform
The SCriPt project (funded by the Welsh Assembly Government / A4B) is a collaborative industrial initiative of 30 months’ duration (commenced 1 January 2010) conducted by Cardiff School of Engineering, Cardiff University, in association with BRE Wales and Constructing Excellence in Wales.
SCrIPt is supported by the Wales Low/Zero Carbon Hub and is based on a recently completed A4B feasibility study. It aims to develop a “one-stop-shop” web based Sustainable Construction Service Platform that provides integrated access to low carbon resources (knowledge, expertise, best practice, and software tools and applications).
SCrIPt builds on, and enhances, the “Sustainable Building Portal” led by the Wales Low/Zero Carbon Hub by exploiting latest Semantic Web (Web 2.0) developments, with a view to delivering a wide range of interactive, dynamic, and user-oriented services that add value and better exploit low carbon resources.

SCrIPt is fully in line with A4B’s aims and more generally with the “priority areas” that have been agreed by Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) Ministers, including Low Carbon Economy.
SCrIPt plays a pivotal role and links strategically (as illustrated below) to the Low Carbon Research Institute (LCRI), the Centre for Research in the Built Environment (CRiBE), the School of Engineering Knowledge Transfer Centre, the Wales Low/Zero Carbon Hub.
